Comments: My name is John Ira Holliday and I am writing this in regard to my dad, Ira Holliday, Jr. He graduated from WWHS in 1941. He served in WWII in the Navy. He worked for the VA Hospital in Beckley for almost 40 years retiring in 1984. He married Leona Godbey in 1949 and they had four children. John, Thomas, Peggy and Mark. Leona, my mother, passed away in 1995. Ira was a master electrician, and a ham radio operator. Being a gun rights advocate he was a member of the NRA and one of the founders of the Beckley Gun Club. My father passed away in 1999 and is sadly missed by friends and family. I would like to hear from anyone that knew him. Thanks.

Comments: After high school I went to Marshall then to Washington D.C. with the war. I got married and that did not work out well--but I had a wonderful son named John as a result. He also graduated from WWHS. I later married Bob Milam who was also a WWHS graduate. We had two children Lisa and Mark. Bob died and I married Kelly Curtis from Logan County. We moved to Illinois. I am again a widow from that marriage and I now live in Beckley with my daughter. I am a member of Memorial Baptist Church, I love to quilt and cook. I have been fighting a battle with cancer, but am feeling much better now.

Comments: I am sending this info in regards to ny mother.Her name was Margaret Ann Cook and she graduated in the class of 1941 from WWHS. She lived in Columbus Ohio for many years. She retired from JC Penney after 38 years of service. I am her only child. She is now in a nursing facility in the final stages of Alzheimer's Disease. He has travled this journey for almost 20 years.

Comments: I am writting this for my father, He graduated in 1941, then took off to Conn. and worked in a defense plant. Joining the US Navy and being part of the D-Day Invasion. Married Mary Ann Brumfield of Christainsburg, VA has 2 daughters. Became a barber and lived in the Roanoke Valley area of Virginia. Mary Ann died of cancer after 33yrs of marriage. He married Carole Lambert Kessler and they have been married 21yrs now. He's still clipping hair and enjoying life. He loves to spend time at their place at Smith Mtn. Lake. TimberlyA@aol.com
