Comments: Fall of '69 moved to upstate New York. '74 met my future husband Steve Hookey. Married '75,(35yrs) 2 children-Stacey and Shawn, 4 grandchildren. They live in Minnesota. Retiring end of May this year and making Minnesota our home base and Casa Grande, AZ our winter home. Steve has worked for the Government since '77 starting at West Point, we moved to AZ in '85 where Steve took a job at Ft. Huachuca. I'm a dental office manager. Happy to retire and enjoy our kids and grandkids. Look forward to news of a reunion. Will be in Beckley in a month or so to see my dad who still lives in the same house I was raised in. Comments: What a nice site this is. To be the largest class that has ever
graduated from WWHS we need to have another reunion. I made it to the 20th
reunion and had a wonderful time.
I still live in Beckley, WV. I work at the VA Hospital here in Beckley as an
engineer and I hope to retire soon. I lost my wife of 36 years in 2007 but I
have a wonderful family and some great friends that helped me through those dark
days.
I have two children, both married, and one grandson so my time is occupied just
traveling around to visit with them.

Comments: The second planning meeting for the class of '69 reunion will be held
on January 18, 2010 at the Beckley Moose Lodge located at 410 New River Drive.
Meeting will start at 6:30PM. The first meeting was not advertised very widely,
therefore, we only had 3 in attendance. Carol Prather Bolen, Barbie Steele
Miller and myself. The only thing we accomplished was to set another planning
date. We are trying to organize something for July or August, so we need
everyone's opinions and help in locating everyone. We hope we can get something

it. Two of my daughters live here and my grands. I work with one daughter (we
are both nurses). Glad to see so many old friends here and on Facebook. Good to
know many of you survived the divorce monster lol! Billy Joe and Dianna, I have
only been here a couple of years and haven't gotten the Titan bug yet - maybe I
should. My boss and other workmates are big Titan fans. A 41 year reunion WOULD
be unique and 69 was a unique bunch! Miss those days sometimes. Woodrow was a

Comments: My husband and I just moved to Columbia SC to purchase my mother's
home. Now all the family is together. My husband, Phil Wicks, is a retired
European racecar driver and we own a driving academy for MINI Coopers and the
North American MINI Cooper Challenge Championship Race Series with a permanent
home for the academy in Las Vegas. But we travel to various tracks around the
country. Hope to hear from many of you! Went to Beckley last Mother's Day and
sang at The Methodist Temple. I stayed with Linda Bays Cooper and we had a
wonderful time reminiscing. And I saw many friends from Woodrow. What a
wonderful weekend!

Portsmouth, Va. Our oldest son Jason is finally getting married in Aug 09 to his
longtime girlfriend. Our second son Ryan lives in Nashville, TN and is the
visiting clubhouse manager for the Tennesse Titans pro football team. All this
means is we get free tickets to all their home games. Diana is in her 35 year
of teaching in christian school here in Portsmouth. I have been declared fully
disabled for the last 5 years. We love to travel during the summer. We have
visited 42 minor league baseball parks and baseball and football hall of fames
in the last 2 years. We would love to hear from our class mates.

40th reunion for the WWHS class of 1969? I live in Pensacola FL (50 miles east
of Mobile AL) so would need a little bit of a heads up before hopping in a car
or on a plane. My parents are both buried at Blue Ridge and my sister Beverly
(Collins) Cavnar (class of 1970) lives about 5 miles from me in Pensacola. I
would need to make hotel reservations. My husband, Don, and I will be married 35
years in July. Our oldest daughter, Jann, is 31, married, a grad of the
University of West Florida here in PNS. She has a 2 1/2 yr old daughter and is
expecting in Sept. She has been married 7 years. She works for a contractor at
NAS and her husband works civil service on another military base in PNS. Our
youngest daughter, Lea, is 27 but unmarried. She graduated from the University
of Mobile and then went for her MBA at UWF. She works for an accounting firm in
PNS.

ended up living. I married John Lowe while I was still in school and we
celebrated our 41st anniversary yesterday. I have always been a stay at home mom

Comments: I don't know if I can put this in chronological order: married, divorced, married, divorced, reconciled with #1 after 21 years and he died 1 week later. Results: own business primarily in Pineville but keep a few patients in Beckley, am psychologist, moved back in'95 after youngest graduated. Told kids not to race through school--Erin's 31, still working on Masters; Ryan's just started a Fellowship in Winston Salem in perinatal medicine and maternal health. His wife, Angell, gave birth to my second grandson the day before Ryan's graduation from OB-GYN residency in Huntington. So Xavier is 4yr and Jasper is 4 weeks old. Comments: Hello, Class of '69 members! I retired in June '07 after teaching high school business classes for 34 years. I am single again after 29 years of marriage. I have a wonderful son & daughter-in-law (Adam & Gretchen Schlenker), a terrific daughter (Brooke Schlenker), and my first grandchild is on the way in '08 September! I taught at Woodrow for 20 1/2 years but retired from Independence High. I stay busy with church activities, family activities, and do a little substitute teaching on the side. I had three children. Then I met my husband of 25 years and we had his, mine, and ours. I had 3, he had 2, and we had one together. We love all six of them. By the end of this year (2007) we will have nine grandchildren. I worked in a Dr. office for years and my husband worked in shipping and receiving at Minute Maid. Darnell likes to fish and I like to do art work and sew. We both like music. Would love to hear from my classmates.

Comments: I try to visit this web page as often as possible to see what everyone is up to. My husband (a Nashville,
TN native) and I are currently living in Columbia, TN, which is a small town about 40 miles south of Nashville. There
have been many changes since my last posting. I now have 2 fabulous grandsons, Hayden (3-1/2) and Brandon 10 months. They
are the light of my life. The boys are sons to my daughter, Karen Darlington Aldridge and her husband Michael. I also
have one step granddaughter, Brylee, who is a real sweetie. She and my grandson Brandon were both born this past
December 29th, 2-1/2 hours apart... what a time that was! I am a real estate broker and worked in that industry for
over 20 years (commercial real estate). After seven years of semi-retirement, I recently went to work for city government
here in our little town. I still get to Beckley as often as possible, but always for very short trips. I still stay in
touch with my pal, Barbie Steele Miller, but I have not seen her in way too long. Would love to hear from old classmates

Comments: We have had a new addition to our family since my earlier posting. My grandson, Hayden
Christopher Aldridge, is 18 months old, and the absolute light of my life. He is the son of my daughter, Karen
Darlington Aldridge and son-in-law, Michael Aldridge. I have been pretty much retired for the last four years
(still keeping books for my husband's company) and have kept Hayden since he was eight weeks old, while my
daughter works. I love it!! She will be leaving work the end of March. They are trying to have another
baby, and she is going to stay home a few years. Although I am vey happy for her, I will miss my time

Comments: Married to an Ohio native, I work as a Systems Engineer, defining software for
fiber-optics telcom networks. My oldest son (1982) is an engineering major at Indiana, while my yougest
son (1989) is currently a sixth graders, aspiring to be an NFL star.
I have no relatives or acquaintances there, but I have taken side routes thru Beckley during the few
driving trips from Georgia to Ohio. But I never see any familiar faces.
I came upon this website by chance, and can support the idea of a reunion.
So, was Bull really that large, or were we just small?

served 31 years, completed my BS in Business Management and Masters in Human Resource Management
and retired in Dec 1999. I currently work as a Senior Operations Analyst for Titan Corporation
at Langley AFB, VA. I am married to a wonderful girl from Ohio (don't hold that against me)

suberb of Nashville, married to Jimmie Byrd (Nashville native) since 1990. I have
one daughter, 31 years old and two stepsons 27 and 28...all live near us. No
grandchildren. Miss Beckley very much, but visit a couple of times per year to
visit my mother's gravesite. I always see my best pal when I am there...I'm sure
most of you remember her, Barbie Steel (Miller).

Comments: I have very fond memories of WWHS and the friends I had. Upon graduation
from high school, I went to East Tennessee State University as a clarinet and oboe major,
but I graduated in 1974 as a voice/opera major. I attended Cincinnati Conservatory
of Music on a full graduate scholarship and have been singing ever
since, performing around 40 concerts per year throughout southern United States and England.
Since leaving Cincinnati, I have developed high-tech research parks for the state of South
Carolina, run Florida's largest local arts agency in Palm Beach County -- yes, I voted there
during the 2000 election! -- and am now the executive director of the Missouri Arts Council
and live in St. Louis. Five years ago, I married an Englishman -- Philip Wicks -- who is a
retired European racecar driver, hotelier, and publican. Having no children of my own,
Philip shares his four children and eight grandchildren with me. Many of you know my parents,
Don and Bette Boyd, who now live in Columbia, South Carolina and are still active in music.
We cruise a lot and take over the piano lounge where Daddy plays and Mother and I sing.
It's wonderful to have such a great time with my parents. I'd love to hear from

from Huntington High Class of 1969, I have fond memories of growing up in Beckley
and attending WWHS. I am an Engineering Manager at a vocational rehabilitation
center in Opelika, Alabama. Married 27 years this June, a daughter and son-in-law
(Kristen and Jonathan), a son Matt at Auburn University, and a 4 year old grandson Kyle.

the school year I went to Taiwan with my family. My dad worked for General Instrument.
I was married 1972 in El Paso, Tx and now live in Oregon with my husband Steve

I have been working in the accounting field for banking, county mental health,
steel/scrap metal and medical communities since 1974. I have not heard from WWHS for
