WHAT'S NEW: Carol McCoy Phelps, an Stoco alum, tells me that the pictures I labeled as Stonecoal High School in Besoco are really Stoco High School in Lego. Stonecoal was a frame building. So I have corrected the description of the pictures, which were taken by Matthew Day, and which are here.

Vicki Fuller sent in two pictures from about 1962-63. One shows Buz Kessel, Vicki Shumate, P.H. Calfee, and Sharon Gorman on a science club trip to Green Bank. It is w297. The other shows some students on the front lawn of WWHS, including Judy Kesler and Tony Massinople. It is w298.

Filbert Wayne Pishner (WWHS ’66) died March 31.

Kathy Anderson sent in some group photos of students at Sylvia Elementary School, showing the future WWHS classes of 1978 and 1979. They are w750, w751, w752, w753, w754.

She also sent in a picture of Acme Construction in Skelton, before the Raleigh Mall was built. Is is b149.
